Beachglass is the second album I recorded with my band, Blue Island Trio. I am very proud of it, and it marks some really big steps forward for me in a number of ways. There were some very special guests on this album, including Les Murzsa on harmonica, Aaron Clark on oud, and my mum, Sarah Tweedale playing guitar and singing. My sister-in-law, Tiffany did the beautiful cover art work, which, to this day, I am still in awe of. And it was recorded at my favourite studio in the world, The Hive, by Jesse Gander with whom I've recorded dozens of albums over the last decade. It was also a pretty big departure for me compositonally; there are still some bluegrassy foot-stompers like Woodshed and The Crwth, but I really got deep into some polyrhthms, and odd- and mixed-meter ideas. I hope you dig it!
